Company History

KAS Engineering came into existence on April 1, 1968 through the efforts of three partners, Klaus Schoenberger, Arnold Myer, and Grant Smith. It was decided to name the company based on initials of the three partners. Starting any company is a challenge and KAS struggled in the early years and soon Arnold decided to apply his talents elsewhere. Grant retired in 1984 and in 1991 Klaus’s son Scott joined the partnership. The company started by producing molds for the plastics industry and soon added molding machines to better meet their customer’s needs. Since then KAS has been focused on custom molding and tooling.

From the beginning KAS tried to focus on small parts with an emphasis on quality. As the company developed and prospered, relationships were developed with such companies as Rainbird, ITT, Sperry, Lucky Line, Scosche Industries, RCA, GE, Honeywell, Data Display, Codan, and Baxter Healthcare. KAS serves a large variety of industries such as medical, appliance, electronic, aerospace, irrigation, automotive, hardware and consumer products. In 2002 KAS Engineering’s Quality System became ISO Certified.
